The disciples surrounded the postmaster and beat him

The Panadura South Police said that five employees of the post office were arrested in connection with an incident of assaulting the Panadura postmaster.

Suspects have been arrested based on a complaint received from the postmaster as well as the persons involved in the attack.

The police also said that the attack took place on the basis of a conversation regarding the reporting of duty to the employees during the strike held recently.

A senior police officer said that the suspects were released on police bail and referred to the conciliation board.
