During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), China has made significant breakthroughs in self-innovation and integrated development, achieving landmark results and nurturing the rapid growth of key supporting enterprises.
These achievements have also optimized the resilience and competitiveness of the industrial supply chain, enhanced foundational innovation and advanced manufacturing capabilities, and played a pivotal role in constructing a strong country and improving the welfare of its people, said Xin Guobin, vice minister of industry and information technology, at a recent press conference.
From space to deep sea
China has made notable achievements across various sectors, from aerospace and deep-earth drilling to underwater exploration.

China has cumulatively delivered 22 homegrown C919 large passenger aircraft, which have safely transported more than 3 million passengers.
Its independently developed AG600 amphibious firefighting aircraft has received both the type certification and production certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, with three units expected to be delivered by the end of this year.
In its latest mission, the Tianzhou-9 cargo spacecraft, launched aboard the Long March-7 carrier rocket, completed a swift space delivery in just 3 hours, sending essential supplies to support the long-term missions of the Shenzhou-20 and Shenzhou-21 crews.
China's technological achievements also extend to deep-ocean exploration. The country's first domestically designed and built deep-ocean drilling vessel, Mengxiang (Dream), has entered service with a maximum drilling depth of 11,000 meters, helping scientists explore the mysteries of the deep ocean.
On land, the Shenditake 1 well, located in the Taklimakan Desert, reached a depth of 10,910 meters, setting a new record as Asia's deepest vertical well.

Additionally, the Adora Magic City, China's first domestically built large cruise ship, has completed over 140 voyages, welcoming more than 530,000 domestic and international passengers since its commercial debut.
From food to health
China has also leveraged its advanced technologies to strengthen food security and public health.
Advanced agricultural machinery has greatly enhanced food production, with smart rice and wheat harvesters now able to collect up to 600 kilograms of crops per minute, significantly increasing efficiency during the summer and autumn harvests.
Power equipment has ensured the secure supply of energy. Hualong One has become the world's most deployed third-generation nuclear reactor technology, with 41 units currently in operation or under construction globally.
Each unit generates over 10 billion kilowatt-hours annually, enough to meet the energy demand of 1 million people while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 8.16 million tonnes.
Advanced rail transportation has made travel more convenient for the public. The Fuxing CR450 high-speed train operates at a speed of 400 kilometers per hour, reducing the travel time from Beijing to Shanghai to just two and a half hours.

In healthcare, China has made significant progress with the development of domestic orthopedic surgical robots and endoscopic surgical robots, greatly enhancing surgical precision and reducing patient suffering during operations.
