Nalasopara teen says boyfriend raped her, cops doubt claim

MUMBAI: A teenager from Nalasopara has accused her boyfriend of rape and assault by spiking her drinks even as the cops doubt her claim. The 19-year-old college student has filed a rape case against her 25-year-old boyfriend. She accused him of raping her after threatening to make a video of their sexual act public. She also alleged being assaulted by the boyfriend with broken pieces of a mirror. Inspector Prakash Birajdar said that the teenager had not seen any video. She told the police that he had threatened her about a video but had not shown it to her. The boyfriend told the police that he had not taken any video and the sex was consensual. No video was found on his cellphone.

According to the teenager, in March he invited her home for his birthday. He offered her soft drink laced with vodka. When she got high, he raped her and recorded it on his cellphone. Thereafter, he used the video to threaten her and have sex with her. All the sexual acts were at his residence.

Early this week, when he called her home for sex, she pleaded with him to delete the video. He got angry that she was not taking interest in the sexual act. He broke a mirror placed on the wall and used a few pieces to slash her wrist. He threatened to show the video to her family.
