Body of woman stuffed in suitcase, set on fire in Dahanu jungle

MUMBAI: In a stark reminder of the Sheena Bora murder case, the body of a young woman was stuffed in a suitcase and set on fire in the jungles of Dahanu. The Vangaon police has registered a case of murder against unknown people. Police suspect that diesel was poured on the suit case and it was set on fire in the wee hours of Wednesday. The woman, aged around 18 to 20 years, may have been killed and the body stuffed in the suit case. It must have been left in the secluded spot at Sakra Ghat on the Vangaon-Kasa Road in Dahanu. The burning suit case was noticed by a local who informed the police. The police reached the spot to find the suit case reduced to ash and the body badly charred. A police team along with the dog squad has reached the spot. The police are looking for complaints of missing persons since the last few days. Sheena was allegedly murdered by her mother Indrani Mukerjea, her body was later stuffed in a bag and set on fire in the jungles of Pen in Raigad district in April 2012.
