18-yr-old called out of home, stabbed 42 times

New Delhi: An 18-year-old youth was brutally stabbed to death outside his house in south-east Delhi's Madangir. Family members said that Deepu was called out of his house by the killers and stabbed 42 times with swords and cleavers. Police said that the role of a group of juveniles with whom Deepu used to play are the prime suspects. According to the family members, Deepu, who studied in class XII at a government school, received a call from someone on Friday night and left his home saying he would be back in a few minutes. Deepu's father, Kalu Ram, said that after some time he heard Deepu calling for help. Ram ran outside and saw that six youths — their faces covered — were stabbing Deepu in different parts of his body. Deepu pushed the youths and tried to flee, but collapsed. As Ram rushed to help Deepu, he was also threatened by the youths. By the time, other family members rushed to help Deepu, the youths had fled. Deepu was rushed to AIIMS where he succumbed during treatment.
